Tahoe City Winter Sports Park
Many of the local ski resorts have opened and there is a winter snow storm forecasted for this week in Lake Tahoe. We are looking forward to kicking off the winter ski season.
The Tahoe City Winter Sports Park is the perfect destination for a day of play that the entire family can enjoy. Located in the heart of Tahoe City at the golf course, during winter it becomes a winter wonderland. From sledding, skating to cross country skiing, guest can enjoy a variety of activities away from the crowds at the local ski resorts.
Some of the activities they provide include:
Sledding
Their family friendly sled hill is located adjacent to beautiful Lake Tahoe. Spend a session sliding and racing on a man-made sled hill. Guests can enjoy their tubes, which are included with the purchase of your sled hill session. They do not allow outside sledding equipment.
Snowshoeing
This fun winter adventure has a very small learning curve and you will be out exploring on the snow in no time. You will find snowshoes in a variety of sizes for adults and children, which are are available to rent when you reserve your snowshoeing session.
Cross Country Skiing
For cross country skiing, enjoy the thrill of gliding on snow. Their groomed cross country ski trails wind around 4km of meadow terrain with views of Lake Tahoe. Trails are groomed daily with both traditional cross country ski tracks and wide lane for skate skiing.
Ice Skating
Everyone’s favorite, the ice-skating rink is popular with locals and visitors alike. The Tahoe City Winter Sports Park Ice Rink is a great way to embrace the thrill of the winter season. Skating teaches balance, improves strength and encourages kids, and adults, to keep trying. Ice skates and skating aids are available for rent.
The Tahoe City Winter Sports Park is located at 251 N. Lake Blvd in downtown Tahoe City.
Let your children play in the park while you relax at Café Zenon indoors. The Cafe offers a laid back atmosphere, overlooking the park activities. They offer freshly prepared and unique cocktails along with a pub fare that features Chicken Pho.
Choose from a menu that includes ham and cheese panini, grilled cheese, tomato soup and a protein veggie salad. You will find that there is something for everyone.
A few tips before visiting the park:
ADVANCE RESERVATIONS ARE RECOMMENDED. Limited walk-ups will be permitted. No guarantee space will be available without an advance reservation.
Check-in begins 15 minutes prior to your session time.
